As a parent, you do everything you can to protect your child. You try to feed your child all of the right things to make sure that they grow healthy and strong, you try to read to them so they can be smart and intelligent, you try to teach them to be good people and provide them with the best opportunities.
Everything you do is to protect your children and to make sure that they are safe. Heck, you even put a little contraption on your toilet to make sure that your kids don’t drown themselves. We all do it!
However, there is a silent danger that not only parents are unaware of, but are purposely exposing their children to.
What is Radiation?
Radiation is the emission of energy as electromagnetic waves, or as moving subatomic particles, especially high particles that cause ionization.
What is radiation poising?
Radiation sickness is an illness that is caused by excess exposure to radiation. There are many symptoms associated with radiation poising that parents need to be aware of, these symptoms include, bleeding from the nose, mouth, gums and rectums, bloody stool, bruising, confusion, dehydration, diarrhea, fainting, fatigue, fever, hair loss, inflammation of exposed areas, mouth ulcers, nausea and vomiting, open sores on the skin, skin burns, sloughing of the skin, ulcers in esophagus, vomiting blood and weakness. And even in some cases, radiation poising can lead to cancer.
The technical term for radiation sickness is Acute Radiation Syndrome. ARS is short-term radiation exposure and long-term radiation exposure that can lead to cancer due to DNA damage. Both ionizing and non-ionizing radiation can cause changes to the chemical balance of cells. Some of these changes can cause the exposed to result in cancer.
Also, by damaging DNA contained in cells, radiation can cause harmful mutations. In severe cases, people can get symptoms within 60 days of being exposed, in extreme case, death can occur within a few hours of being exposed to high amounts of radiation.
